Instant Sleep Backpackerhostel Hamburg

Enjoy our relaxed atmosphere: about 50 persons can stay in the beds of our eleven differently designed rooms. So we are a good address especially for people travelling on their own or in small groups and looking for room to sleep.

We are a classic backpacker hostel: with colourful, but simple rooms, a well equipped kitchen and communal bathrooms on the corridor. The hostel's heart is our lounge: here you can relax and meet other guests.

If you would like to have breakfast in a café or go to eat somewhere, maybe you will discover what you are looking for already in the same building: downstairs there is a café serving American breakfast and a snack bar. Just round the corner on 'Schulterblatt', you will find many more options: cafés, snack bars and restaurants with food from almost the whole world (e.g. from Japan, Pakistan, Greece, Italy or Germany), or on 'Juliusstraße', where you can find a café called 'Unter den Linden' (Under the lime trees) that serves croissants and cafe au lait.
Big parts of Hamburg's night life with many clubs and bars are in a walking distance, too, but you can also get there using public transports. The hostel is located at the north-western end of 'Schulterblatt' at the crossin with 'Max-Brauer-Allee'. Here you are near enough to the centre to reach many places comfortable and in a short time, and still in a very lively living quarter of Hamburg. So there is an interesting neighbourhood around the hostel, but you will not find yourself next to monotonous shopping precincts, grey industrial or office districts or the permanent hurly-burly of train stations or Hamburg's 'Reeperbahn'.

Starting from the hostel, you can easily discover quarters like 'Sternschanze', the so called 'Karolinenviertel' or 'St. Pauli'. By public transports you can get fast to 'Altona', the city centre, the 'Alster' lake or to many other places in Hamburg. You will find a bus stop just across the street, the next station for S-Bahn and U-Bahn (tube system) can be reached with a short walk of under ten minutes.

Good hostel overall, would stay again. Showers were kind of see-through but separated by gender so not too bad. And I liked how environmentally conscious they were

Unfortunately this space is mostly to complain, all the experience was nice except for the wifi, I bet that my room was perhaps the farthest from the router, but don't let this comment bother you if you are planning to stay there!

Awesome hostel! Really comfy wooden bunk beds which don't wobble every time you move :) I really enjoyed having my own light and plug socket. Staff was very nice and open mike with Howard too :) Only negative part was that wifi was only available in the common area but not the room. Would definitely stay there again and will recommend the place to friends

My sister and I left after one night and left as early as we were able. It looks clean in all the pictures but the whole place definitely needs a scrub down, half of the bathroom/shower stalls are stained and don't lock. And the bunks are so loud and rickety that you're up half the night listening to other people move around. Definitely wouldn't recommend. The staff were very lovely and helpful though.
