Instant Sleep Backpackerhostel Hamburg

Enjoy our relaxed atmosphere: about 50 persons can stay in the beds of our eleven differently designed rooms. So we are a good address especially for people travelling on their own or in small groups and looking for room to sleep.

We are a classic backpacker hostel: with colourful, but simple rooms, a well equipped kitchen and communal bathrooms on the corridor. The hostel's heart is our lounge: here you can relax and meet other guests.

If you would like to have breakfast in a café or go to eat somewhere, maybe you will discover what you are looking for already in the same building: downstairs there is a café serving American breakfast and a snack bar. Just round the corner on 'Schulterblatt', you will find many more options: cafés, snack bars and restaurants with food from almost the whole world (e.g. from Japan, Pakistan, Greece, Italy or Germany), or on 'Juliusstraße', where you can find a café called 'Unter den Linden' (Under the lime trees) that serves croissants and cafe au lait.
Big parts of Hamburg's night life with many clubs and bars are in a walking distance, too, but you can also get there using public transports. The hostel is located at the north-western end of 'Schulterblatt' at the crossin with 'Max-Brauer-Allee'. Here you are near enough to the centre to reach many places comfortable and in a short time, and still in a very lively living quarter of Hamburg. So there is an interesting neighbourhood around the hostel, but you will not find yourself next to monotonous shopping precincts, grey industrial or office districts or the permanent hurly-burly of train stations or Hamburg's 'Reeperbahn'.

Starting from the hostel, you can easily discover quarters like 'Sternschanze', the so called 'Karolinenviertel' or 'St. Pauli'. By public transports you can get fast to 'Altona', the city centre, the 'Alster' lake or to many other places in Hamburg. You will find a bus stop just across the street, the next station for S-Bahn and U-Bahn (tube system) can be reached with a short walk of under ten minutes.

I had one stop over in Hamburg. This was an okay location - not far from the botanical gardens which I liked. It’s an older building but it was clearly clean which was great. The female bathroom doors were the old saloon type style so lacked a bit of privacy there.

I expected this hostel to be a bit of a dive because of the cheaper price, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a totally normal, organised place with a decent atmosphere, comfy beds and free coffee. My friend and I enjoyed our stay.

not a good experience with this hostel. They make you inform them of your arrival time otherwise your booking is canceled. also if you don’t make it in that hour, your bed is given away. I was also then told that I have to pay 5€ extra to check in 5 minutes past the reception closing time. Ridiculous. Furthermore the info I was provided with at booking was that reception is open till 12am on thursdays. I canceled my booking so I can’t rate the other factors.
